Help us take the pulse of nonprofit communications and tell your success stories with our second annual communications survey, open until July 14: http://bit.ly/dAvgA

We weren’t on the program but the report was featured on PBS affiliate WTTW’s “Chicago Tonight.” Watch the interview.
The Benton Foundation had this to say about the report:

How To Write To Change The World: An Op-Ed Project Seminar, With the Op Ed Project and Jewish Council on Urban Affairs
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, July 26 at the Spertus Museum
610 S. Michigan Ave., Room 313
(Includes breakfast and lunch)
Did you know the op-ed pages of our nation’s newspapers are overwhelmingly dominated—80 percent or more—by men? You can change this!
Learn to use the Op-Eds to sway public opinion and change the world.
Op Ed pages of major newspapers are read by policy makers, business people, scholars and those in the highest level of government. Because the op-ed pages feed all other media, the under-representation of women here perpetuates and exaggerates the under-representation of women in larger ways. Space is limited so register today!
Trainer Catherine Orenstein’s Op-Ed Project has been featured in The New York Times, Feministing.com and on CBS News with Katie Couric. It is an initiative to expand public debate, with an immediate focus on targeting and training women experts across the nation to project their voices on the op-ed pages of major newspapers, online sites and other key forums of public discourse, currently dominated by male voices.
How is the Blogosphere like a cookie?
Noon to 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 27
Blogger Patrick Boylan leads this brown bag discussion on blogging. He will
shed light on why some blogs fail and others succeed as well as information on blog analytics, messaging and the best ways to promote your blog. Event is FREE but space is limited, Registration required.

Teresa Puente Blogger, Chicanisima, Latina Voices http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicanisima/ http://latina-voices.com/wp04/
“I'm looking for stories about the Latino community in Chicago from culture to neighborhood news,” says Teresa Puente about her blog, Chicanisima. Her blog is part of the Chicago Tribune’s latest installment - ChicagoNow, a community of bloggers writing about Chicago-centric themes. Teresa is interested in immigration issues and profiling members of the Latino community. She doesn’t have much time to cover events, but is open to posting them on her blog.
Teresa is also the creator and editor of Latina Voices – a website that posts essays and articles by and about Hispanic women. “Many of the pieces are personal essays or opinion,” says Teresa. She invites everyone to submit stories as long as they stick to subject matter.
Teresa updates both sites several times a week and says it’s best to pitch her by email at tpuente@colum.edu.
