Going Hollywood?
“You don’t have to be a video producer to get a short piece about your agency,” says trainer Margaret Caples. “Hollywood may not necessarily be what we’re talking about, but video is one of the best ways and still one of the least-used ways to go about fundraising and awareness raising.”

Learn the basics to make a video the cheap & easy way. This workshop will focus on pre-production methods to help you design a video project that will frame your organization’s story.

People to Pitch

Noreen S. Ahmed-Ullah, Metro Section Reporter - Chicago Tribune
“The most interesting stories are about immigration and asylum,” said Noreen S. Ahmed-Ullah, reporter for the Metro section of the Chicago Tribune. “Or anything that shows a window into what’s wrong with the immigration system.” Ahmed-Ullah has worked for the Trib for the past 8 years and currently covers the city’s neighborhoods, ethnic communities and the Chicago Park District. She also likes arts and culture related stories within the neighborhoods and ethnic communities. When it comes to the park district, she looks for trends affecting the parks or the environment. She does not cover Olympics-related stories. Nonprofits can pitch Noreen at nahmed@tribune.com.
